On March 29th, 2016, Franciscan Kitchen was awarded Dare to Care's 2016 Bobby Ellis Emergency Kitchen of the Year Award. The award is named after Bobby Ellis, a 9 year old boy who died of malnutrition in 1969. His death was the catalyst for the start of Dare to Care (

Other awards were given to Kid's Cafe (
http://goo.gl/AM5k3P ) as well as an Indiana food pantry and a Kentucky food pantry.
The Franciscan Kitchen received the Emergency Kitchen award because of its facility expansion as well as the Health Care Initiative.
Board Member Larry and Fiona Cissell received the award on behalf of Franciscan Kitchen!!
