With many of our regular volunteers heeding the recommendations to remain home during the crisis, we need volunteer drivers to do food pick ups from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Also, we can use additional food prep assistance from anytime after 6:00 - 10:00 a.m. Thanks to those who are have stepped up at this time to fill the gaps. We are especially grateful to Kentucky Harvest for bringing us needed items and to the Brown-Forman Corporation for providing us with prepared bag lunches. Please continue to pray for the health and safety all of our volunteers and guests, as well as our city, state, country, and the world during this pandemic. If you want to help us out, please call me at 502-643-8400.

  • Message from Executive Director Chuck Mattingly - March 27, 2020
    March 27, 2020
Looking for ways to help the Franciscan Kitchen? We are in desperate need of hamburger buns and sliced bread. Since most all was bought up in the last week, we are getting almost no donations from the grocery stores...there is nothing to donate. If you have surplus or could buy some and drop it off between 6:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Friday or 8:00 -1:00 on Saturday, that would greatly help us. Thank you.

KY COLONELS AWARD RECORD $2M IN GRANTS
    September 28, 2018
Franciscan Kitchen AN HONORED 2018 RECIPIENT Louisville, KY – Franciscan Kitchen is proud to announce it received a grant from the Honorable Order Kentucky Colonels (HOKC) in the amount of $5055 to purchase 1500 #10 cans of green beans to head the homeless & hungry. The Franciscan Kitchen serves approximately 135,000 meals of year to those in need. The $2 million mark is a record for the KY Colonel’s annual grant program, according to HOKC Executive Director Sherry Crose, as more than 230 charities throughout the Commonwealth will receive grants this year and 3-million Kentuckians will be aided through the combined impact of the non-profit organizations receiving these grants. Lynn Ashton, Commanding General of the Kentucky Colonels said, "A Kentucky Colonel is more than just a certificate, it's a group of compassionate people who care about people.” HOKC is a 501(c)(3) supporting Kentucky charities and worthy organizations through its Good Works Program. Donations are given by Colonels appointed by the Governor, who chose to exercise this honor in a meaningful way. For more information go to www.kycolonels.org.
